Check out some of our previous community collaborations we've done.
Joline has been working with White River First Nations to increase the accessibility of nutrition support in Beaver Creek!Since January 2023, we have been doing diabetes education for community members, community kitchen programs with the White River First Nation healthcare team, and free nutrition counseling for WRFN citizens. Joline also hosted a workshop at the White River First Nation Women's Cultural Camp, and will be working with the school team in Fall 2024.
We were thrilled when Coach Kim reached out seeking nutrition information for the competitive gymnasts at Polarettes! Parents learned all about supporting their athletes to fuel up throughout training weeks and at competitions, build positive relationships with food and their bodies, and get everyone involved in meal planning and cooking. Then, it was the gymnasts' turn to learn how to fuel their working/ growing brains and bodies AND get their hands dirty with breakfast and snack prep. We had a blast and can't wait to be back!
We were invited by Blood Ties to do a series of workshops for their Wellness Wednesday Workshop Series. Some of the workshops Sunrise Nutrition provided were Nutrition For Every Day, Cooking Class and Eating Well on a Budget.
We learned a lot, cooked and shared a meal together, and discussed how to cook and eat well with less. It was so great to hear participants say “Yea - we made it!” when sharing food with other community members!
