Sheet Pan Orange French Toast
This is another recipe from my mom’s kitchen. She used to make it on Christmas morning as a simple, hands-off way to avoid the kitchen and spend time with the family. Thick slices of French bread soak up a lightly citrus-scented custard and bake quickly in the oven for an easy, no-fuss meal. It is SO good!
Ingredients
4 eggs
3/4 cup half & half cream
1/4 cup orange juice
1 tsp orange rind, grated
1/2 tsp vanilla
dash of nutmeg
1 loaf french bread, cut thick
Directions
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk eggs, cream, orange juice, orange rind, vanill and nutmeg.
Soak each slice of bread in egg mixture, and place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 500°F for five (5) minutes on each side.
